Part One. The opening stages of an upcoming exhibition celebrating the life and achievements of Margaret Watts Hughes (b.1847-1907) a Welsh singer and scientist from the Dowlais area of Merthyr Tydfil. In particular, the exhibition will focus on her invention of the eidophone and discovery of a standing wave phenomenon described by Hughes' as a Voice Figure.
Part Two. A brief account of the life and work of Margaret Watts Hughes, including an overview of the discovery of the Voice Figures and the presentation to the Royal Society.
